Hayley Holt

Hayley Holt is a talented New Zealand television presenter, former snowboarder, ballroom dancer, and political aspirant.


She has become a well-known figure in New Zealand's entertainment and sports broadcasting sectors. Holt's early years were spent in the suburb of Epsom, where she attended Epsom Girls' Grammar School. Her diverse interests and talents emerged early, as she started ballroom and Latin dancing at the age of seven, achieving notable placements in competitions like the Blackpool Rising Star Professional Ballroom Competition and the US Open Rising Star Professional Ballroom Competition​​​​.

Holt's television career includes winning TV2's "Treasure Island: Pirates of the Pacific" in 2007 and working on "The Crowd Goes Wild" as a reporter and occasional presenter since December 2009. She has also co-presented the TV One series "Best Bits" in 2013 and appeared in an episode of "Shortland Street" in 2015. In January 2018, Holt began co-hosting "TVNZ Breakfast" with Jack Tame and later John Campbell, a role she held until August 2020 when she transitioned to sports presentation on 1 News at 6pm​​.

Beyond television, Holt has been involved in corporate boxing, participating in two bouts in 2011 to raise funds for charity. This venture into boxing highlights her commitment to fitness and charitable causes​​. In the realm of politics, Holt stood for the Green Party of Aotearoa New Zealand in the 2017 general election in the Helensville electorate, although she was not elected​​.
