Dave Letele won't stand at upcoming election

Exciting Update 📣 Dave Letele, a celebrated motivational speaker and cherished part of our Essential Talent family, recently shared an important message with us.

David has made the considered decision not to stand as a candidate in this year's general elections. He chooses to continue with his powerful community-based activism through BBM, where he frequently voices his stance on challenging issues. It's a role he undertakes with no apologies, standing up even when his views aren't favoured by those in power.

In South and West Auckland, communities often find themselves in the margins, and they are in pressing need of support. David's advocacy reaffirms the need for individuals who will stand alongside them, actively working to enhance their living conditions.

David cited that "decade after decade politicians have made promises at election time to us. Decade after decade we stay at the bottom and in need." His response to this is to stay politically proactive in his work with BBM, highlighting systemic inadequacies that let down our communities while tirelessly striving to fill the gaps.

BBM offers a broad range of support to the community, providing free exercise classes, specialised obesity and diabetes courses, nutritional advice, job support, and educational resources, among other emergency support services. With a team of 20 committed staff members, BBM also manages food share services and supplies furniture and bedding.

With thousands of active supporters in South and West Auckland and Tokoroa, David's influence is truly remarkable. He also shared exciting plans about BBM's future expansion to other locations.

David's pledge is powerful: "Wherever there's a need, and we can help, we will." We're excited to share more about this pillar of Essential Talent. Keep an eye on this space for more updates!
